Telnet is a way to communicate with a device by entering text-based commands. To Telnet to your Be Box, you will need to:
- Telnet software
- Specify the address of the device you wish to connect to
- Optionally enter a username and password
- Enter optional BeBox Commands (Command line interface, CLI, commands)

- Windows Vista & Windows 7 users will need to enable the Telnet client:
- Go to Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features
- In the menu, click on the link "Turn Windows features on or Off"; you may need to enter an Administrator username and password
- In Windows features window, scroll down to Telnet client, and ensure that the checkbox is checked. It may take a few minutes to complete this.
- You can also use Putty to connect via Telnet.
- Putty is available from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
- Please download putty.exe
- Run the program
- Change the connection type to telnet and type 192.168.1.254 in the address box.
- Follow the instructions below from number 2.
